No guesswork, no green-thumb gambling. Every plant listing tells you exactly what you need to know—light, care level, and best placement—so you can pick the right plant for your space without a dramatic third-act wilt. Whether your home is glowing with sunshine or serving delicious low-light drama, we’ll help you find your perfect match.

Yes—no leafy divas here without fair warning. We offer plants for bright rooms, low-light spaces, and everything in between, and every listing clearly tells you what each one prefers before you order. That way, you can choose with confidence instead of just hoping for the best.

We pack every plant with serious care, but shipping can still be a little chaotic. If something arrives stressed or damaged, contact us right away and we’ll help make it right. We also recommend checking our Shipping FAQ before ordering, because a little prep goes a long way.

It depends—some are delightfully low-maintenance, and some have a bit more main-character energy. We offer everything from easygoing plants to collector beauties with stronger opinions, and each listing clearly outlines the care level so you know what you’re getting into before you commit.

Some are, some definitely are not—and most tropicals are meant to be admired, not added to the snack menu. We clearly note pet-safe options when applicable, but if you have a curious cat or a dog with questionable taste, it’s always best to choose carefully and keep tempting foliage out of reach.

No problem at all. We offer plenty of beginner-friendly plants, and each listing includes simple care guidance to help you get started without the panic spiral. We also have books and first-time plant parent bundles in the shop if you’d like a little extra backup for your leafy new chapter.

With care, cushion, and just a hint of plant-parent paranoia. We securely pack plants using insulation, thermal bubble wrap, and compostable packing materials as needed to help them travel safely. Heat packs are available when weather calls for them, but while we do everything we can on our end, we can’t guarantee against extreme temperatures or courier mishandling.

Because plants are living things, and they’re very ready to tell you if they feel they’ve been mistreated. The less time they spend in transit, the better their odds of arriving happy, healthy, and far less dramatic. Next day air helps reduce stress, delays, and rough handling, so if you’re ordering a wishlist plant, a collector piece, or anything you’d hate to see arrive looking tragic, the upgrade is absolutely worth it. Shipping plants always carries some risk, and faster transit is one of the best ways to lower it.

Absolutely. Shipping is based on the weight of your order, box size, and destination, with a small handling fee included for quality packing materials. You’ll be able to choose your courier and shipping speed at checkout, and larger plants may cost more to ship simply because they need more space and a sturdier ride.

Yes—you may request shipment up to 7 days after your purchase date. There’s a comment box in your cart where you can leave notes for our shipping team, and we’re happy to hold your plant babies just a little longer if needed. We get it—sometimes attachments form quickly around here.

You should receive an order confirmation after purchase and a dispatch email with tracking once your order ships. If you don’t see them, please check your spam, junk, and promotions folders, since these emails sometimes like to wander. To help keep future updates out of email purgatory, add botanybooksandbooze.com to your safe senders list.

Orders typically ship within 3–5 business days after they’re placed. During holiday rushes, big sales, or especially busy spells, processing may stretch to 7–10 business days. We pack with care, not chaos, so a little extra time can mean a much better trip for your plants.

Our shipping cutoff is 3 PM, Monday through Friday. Orders placed after that time are processed the next business day, and carriers typically do not count weekends as standard transit days. So a Friday order placed after cutoff may not move until Monday, with delivery following on Tuesday.

We ship all plants in healthy condition and pack them with serious care, but plants are perishable and shipping always carries risk. We cannot refund damage caused by courier delays, rough handling, or extreme weather, which is why we strongly recommend Next Day Air for high-value or especially sensitive plants. If your package is lost in transit, please use your tracking number to file a claim directly with the courier, as shipments are insured for the full order amount.

Some variation is completely normal—plants are living things, not copy-and-paste decor. If a plant is listed as shown, you’ll receive that exact plant. If it’s listed assorted, your plant may vary slightly in size, shape, color, or variegation depending on the season and current availability. Our photos are taken in-house and selected to best represent what you can expect, but we’re not able to send individual photos of every plant before shipment.

Please contact us right away if you received the wrong plant or notice a pest issue upon unboxing. An unboxing video is required so our team can review the issue and help with the next steps. Every plant—whether new or rescue—is treated for pests and fungus before shipping, but as any seasoned plant person knows, treatments are not always flawless and nature occasionally has opinions. Rescue and sale plants are sold as imperfect and are final sale, so a little character may come with the territory.
