Plant Description
Agave lophantha 'Superwhite' is the succulent world's most architectural overachiever—those stiff, sword-shaped leaves in deep green are edged and striped with such vivid white variegation it looks less like a plant and more like something that was hand-painted with a very fine brush by someone who had unlimited time and strong opinions about contrast. She forms a tight, symmetrical rosette that looks designed rather than grown, and she does it with the legendary Agave indifference to neglect, drought, and general human inconsistency. Bold, graphic, and basically indestructible—the Superwhite is the statement plant that genuinely earns the statement.
Care Card
🌿 Light — Full sun to bright indirect; the more direct sun the more vivid and defined that white variegation stays. Low light causes the white margins to soften toward cream and the whole graphic contrast loses its crispness—she wants the sunniest spot available.
💧 Water — Let the soil dry out completely between waterings, then water thoroughly and drain. Those thick succulent leaves store substantial moisture; overwatering causes crown rot that works from the inside out and gives almost no warning before it's catastrophic.
💨 Humidity — Low. Prefers dry conditions; typical home humidity or drier is ideal—no misting, no humidifier, no pebble tray. She is an Agave and she means every word of that.
🌡️ Temperature — 50–95°F. More cold-tolerant than many succulents; tolerates brief frost but prefers consistent warmth. Bring indoors before hard freeze and keep away from cold drafts that cause the white margins to brown.
🪴 Soil — Fast-draining cactus or succulent mix with added perlite. Drainage above all else; the rosette form collects water at the center and dense media causes crown rot faster than almost anything else.
🌱 Fertilizer — Diluted cactus fertilizer once in spring and once in summer. Minimal feeder; the tight symmetrical rosette and vivid white variegation stay most defined with restrained nutrition—overfeeding produces loose, less graphic growth.
⚠️ Toxicity — Toxic to cats, dogs, and humans. Sap causes skin irritation and the sharp terminal spines cause physical injury—handle with thick gloves and keep away from children and pets who might investigate at face level.
🐣 Beginner Friendly? — Yes. Sun, drainage, and the patience to not overwater—those three things and the Superwhite will reward you indefinitely with one of the most architecturally striking plants in the succulent world.

Shipping rates are based on the packed weight of your order (plants + soil + pot + box + insulation). This helps us cover the real cost of getting breakable, living things safely to you.
In cold weather, we strongly recommend adding a Heat Pack add-on for each shipment. Heat packs are priced separately and add additional weight to your box.
