Aglaonema 'Tigress' earns the name with those boldly striped leaves—deep green streaked with silver-grey in a pattern so graphic and precise it looks less like variegation and more like the plant commissioned a custom paint job and was very specific about the brief. She's got all the classic Aglaonema adaptability underneath that striped exterior, tolerating low light and occasional neglect with the kind of unbothered confidence that suits a plant named after an apex predator. Bold, striking, and significantly easier than she looks—the Tigress is the Aglaonema that means business.
Care Card
🌿 Light — Low to bright indirect light. Silver striping stays sharp and defined with good light; lower light is genuinely tolerated without the drama—she's an Aglaonema, not a diva, despite the name.
💧 Water — Let the top 1–2 inches dry between waterings, then water thoroughly and drain. Drought-tolerant and forgiving of occasional lapses; overwatering remains the primary mistake—well-draining mix keeps those striped leaves looking their predatory best.
💨 Humidity — Average to moderate, 40–60%. Completely comfortable in typical home humidity without supplemental assistance—one of the most humidity-tolerant variegated plants available.
🌡️ Temperature — 65–80°F. Never below 60°F. No cold drafts, no AC vents—she tolerates a lot but cold air is the one condition that genuinely gets to her.
🪴 Soil — Well-draining all-purpose or aroid mix. Consistent moderate moisture without waterlogging; not demanding about soil composition as long as drainage is decent.
🌱 Fertilizer — Balanced liquid fertilizer monthly in spring and summer. Nothing in fall and winter; consistent gentle feeding keeps those silver stripes vivid and the growth steady.
⚠️ Toxicity — Toxic to pets and humans. Calcium oxalate crystals cause oral irritation and vomiting if ingested.
🐣 Beginner Friendly? — Absolutely yes. Collector-level aesthetics with beginner-level care—the Tigress is the Aglaonema for people who want to look like they know what they're doing, which they will.

PLEASE NOTE: What you see is the vibe — not the exact plant. 🌿 Each plant has its own personality (some a little more dramatic than others). Leaf shape, size, and variegation will vary, but pot size is consistent.
