Achieve the glowing, refreshed skin you deserve
Alocasia Black Velvet is a moody little jewel—dark, velvety, and quietly luxurious without needing a giant footprint. It is perfect for buyers who want a dramatic leaf without a dramatic amount of space.
Black Velvet is easier to overwater than underwater. An airy mix and a little restraint go a long way.
LIGHT: Bright indirect light. The velvety surface is adapted to dappled forest light—avoid harsh direct sun.
WATER: Allow the top inch of soil to dry before watering. Black Velvet is more drought-tolerant than most Alocasias but still needs consistent moisture. Use well-draining chunky mix.
HUMIDITY: Prefers 60–80% humidity. Avoid misting the velvety leaves, which can cause water spots—use a pebble tray or humidifier instead.
FERTILIZER: Light feedings every 2–4 weeks in the growing season. Avoid heavy fertilizer buildup.
TEMPERATURE: 65–85°F. No cold drafts or temps below 60°F.
TOXICITY: Toxic if ingested.

HOW OUR SHIPPING WORKS We ship all live plants with custom packing, insulation, and lots of cushioning so they arrive in the best condition possible. Shipping rates are based on the packed weight of your order (plants + soil + pot + box + insulation). This helps us cover the real cost of getting breakable, living things safely to you.
In cold weather, we strongly recommend adding a Heat Pack add-on for each shipment. Heat packs are priced separately and add additional weight to your box.
SHIPPING NOTE: Shipping includes wrapping and insulation. Heat packs are not included by default—please add a Heat Pack add-on to your cart for cold-weather shipping.
Shipping Days are Monday-Wednesday to avoid weekend and holiday delays.
PLEASE NOTE: What you see is the vibe — not the exact plant. 🌿
Each plant has its own personality (some a little more dramatic than others).
Leaf shape, size, and variegation will vary, but pot size is consistent.
