Alocasia Frydek

Alocasia 'Frydek' is velvet drama at its finest—soft dark leaves traced with bright white veins like someone sketched them in moonlight. It is one of the easiest plants to admire from across the room and one of the quickest to tell you when it wants better care.

Frydek tends to be more forgiving when kept warm and given bright filtered light. Like many alocasias, it may slow down or rest in cooler seasons.

LIGHT: Bright indirect light. Avoid direct sun, which damages the velvety leaf surface, and overly low light, which reduces growth.

WATER: Keep soil evenly moist during the growing season. Use a well-draining mix. Reduce watering in winter rest periods.

HUMIDITY: 60–80%. Avoid misting the velvety leaves directly; use a pebble tray or humidifier.

FERTILIZER: Balanced liquid fertilizer every 2–4 weeks in spring and summer.

TEMPERATURE: 65–85°F; protect from cold drafts.

TOXICITY: Toxic to humans, cats, and dogs.
