She's got the commanding size of the odora species with the added bonus of a surface that looks hand-painted, and she's significantly more forgiving than her fancier collector relatives. 🌿 Light — Bright indirect preferred. The batik patterning stays vivid with good light; low light fades the markings and stretches the petioles.
💧 Water — Top 1–2 inches dry between waterings, then water thoroughly. Moist but never soggy—she's forgiving but not invincible.
💨 Humidity — 55–70% preferred. More tolerant than most Alocasias but she appreciates the effort of a pebble tray or humidifier.
🌡️ Temperature — 65–85°F. Keep her away from cold drafts and AC vents; she may go dormant in cooler winter conditions.
🪴 Soil — Well-draining tropical aroid mix. Rich enough to hold some moisture, loose enough that roots stay happy.
🌱 Fertilizer — Half-strength balanced liquid every 2–4 weeks in spring and summer. Monthly in early fall. Nothing in winter.
⚠️ Toxicity — Toxic to pets and humans. Calcium oxalate crystals cause serious oral irritation if ingested.
