🌿 Light — Bright indirect preferred. Those delicate cupped leaves display their full charm with good light; low light causes the long petioles to stretch and the whole dancing quality becomes more of an awkward lean.
💧 Water — Top inch dry between waterings, then water thoroughly and drain. Compact root system with precise drainage needs—chunky well-draining mix keeps her dancing rather than rotting, which is a very different performance.
💨 Humidity — 60–75% required. Those narrow cupped leaves are more sensitive to dry air than broad-leafed Alocasias; humidifier strongly recommended. Crispy cup edges are not the aesthetic.
🌡️ Temperature — 65–85°F. Never below 60°F. Stable warmth keeps those delicate leaves unfurling consistently; cold drafts cause immediate visible stress on a plant this expressive.
🪴 Soil — Chunky well-draining aroid mix. Fine roots, good drainage, consistent moisture—get all three right and she performs indefinitely.
🌱 Fertilizer — Half-strength balanced liquid every 2–4 weeks in spring and summer. Monthly in early fall. Nothing in winter.
⚠️ Toxicity — Toxic to pets and humans. Calcium oxalate crystals cause serious oral irritation if ingested.
