The Anthurium 'Cobra' is named for the way its deeply lobed, dramatically textured leaves unfurl and rear back on sturdy petioles like something that absolutely knows it's intimidating—and it is, in the best possible way. That heavily bullate surface and bold venation make it look less like a houseplant and more like a prop from a movie set in a place where the plants have opinions. Give it humidity, good drainage, and a bright spot, and it will reward you with some of the most sculpturally dramatic foliage in the entire Anthurium genus.

🌿 Light — Bright indirect preferred. That bullate texture and dramatic lobing need good light to develop fully; low light produces flatter, less intimidating leaves and nobody wants a timid Cobra.
💧 Water — Top 1–2 inches dry between waterings, then water thoroughly and drain. Chunky well-draining aroid mix essential—moist but never waterlogged, because even apex predators rot if you overwater them.
💨 Humidity — 60–75% required. Large textured leaves mean high transpiration demand; humidifier strongly recommended. Dry air produces crispy edges that undermine the whole menacing aesthetic.
🌡️ Temperature — 65–85°F. Never below 60°F. No cold drafts—the Cobra strikes back through yellowing leaves and dramatic sulking.
🪴 Soil — Chunky well-draining aroid mix. Big dramatic roots need big dramatic drainage.
🌱 Fertilizer — Half-strength balanced liquid every 2–4 weeks in spring and summer. Monthly in early fall. Nothing in winter.
⚠️ Toxicity — Toxic to pets and humans. Calcium oxalate crystals cause serious oral irritation if ingested.
