Begonia 'Martha Stewart' arrives perfectly put together and expects the same from her environment—those broad, richly patterned Rex-type leaves in deep green, silver, and burgundy have the kind of composed, high-production elegance that makes the whole shelf look like it was styled intentionally. She's lush, commanding, and named appropriately for a woman who has never once tolerated a drooping leaf or a substandard soil mix. Give her the right conditions and she will make your entire plant collection look like it has its life together.
Care Card
🌿 Light — Bright indirect, no direct sun. Those richly patterned leaves stay sharp and vivid with good indirect light; direct sun scorches the patterns and low light fades them into something Martha would absolutely not approve of.
💧 Water — Let the top inch dry between waterings, then water thoroughly at the base. Never on the leaves—water spots on Rex foliage are permanent and frankly embarrassing. Drain thoroughly; soggy roots are beneath the brand.
💨 Humidity — 50–65% preferred. Needs more humidity than average but doesn't require terrarium conditions; a pebble tray or nearby humidifier keeps her looking composed and editorial. Never mist directly onto the patterned leaves.
🌡️ Temperature — 65–80°F. Never below 60°F. Stable warmth keeps those elegant leaves producing consistently; cold drafts produce wilting and leaf drop that would disappoint everyone involved.
🪴 Soil — Light, well-draining mix with good aeration. Rex Begonias hate sitting in moisture—airy soil with excellent drainage is non-negotiable.
🌱 Fertilizer — Quarter to half-strength balanced liquid every 3–4 weeks in spring and summer. Consistent and measured—Martha doesn't do anything haphazardly and neither should your fertilizing schedule.
⚠️ Toxicity — Toxic to pets and humans. Calcium oxalate crystals cause oral irritation if ingested.
🐣 Beginner Friendly? — Getting there. More achievable than many Rex Begonias at this visual level—intermediate growers who follow the care instructions will find her enormously rewarding and frankly impressive company.

Shipping rates are based on the packed weight of your order (plants + soil + pot + box + insulation). This helps us cover the real cost of getting breakable, living things safely to you.
In cold weather, we strongly recommend adding a Heat Pack add-on for each shipment. Heat packs are priced separately and add additional weight to your box.
SHIPPING NOTE: Shipping includes wrapping and insulation. Heat packs are not included by default—please add a Heat Pack add-on to your cart for cold-weather shipping. Shipping Days are Monday–Wednesday to avoid weekend and holiday delays.
