Button Fern (Pellaea rotundifolia) is a tidy little charmer with round leaflets that look like someone strung green buttons along soft black wire. It feels gentle, old-fashioned, and quietly lovely without being fussy looking.
Button ferns usually handle normal home life better than fussier ferns, but they still appreciate not being allowed to go completely crispy.
LIGHT: Medium to bright indirect light
WATER: Keep soil evenly moist but not waterlogged. More tolerant of occasional drying than most ferns.
HUMIDITY: 50–70%. Tolerates lower household humidity better than many ferns.
FERTILIZER: Diluted balanced fertilizer every 4–6 weeks in spring and summer.
TEMPERATURE: 60–80°F; protect from frost.
TOXICITY: Non-toxic to humans, cats, and dogs.
