Caladium lindenii 'Magnificum' is the plant that makes the rest of the Caladium family look like it was playing it safe—those large, arrow-shaped leaves in deep glossy green with bold white venation so crisp and architectural it looks drafted rather than grown have a formal, almost graphic quality that commands attention without resorting to the flashy pinks and reds the rest of the genus relies on. She's elegant, structured, and genuinely magnificent in the way that things named 'Magnificum' have an obligation to be. Put her anywhere that needs a focal point and the room immediately makes more sense.

🌿 Light — Bright indirect preferred. That crisp white venation stays sharp and defined with good light; low light dulls the contrast and the whole architectural effect softens into something considerably less commanding.
💧 Water — Keep consistently moist during active growth; never let her dry out completely—Caladiums signal drought stress by going dormant, which is dramatic and inconvenient. Reduce watering in fall as she winds down naturally.
💨 Humidity — 60–70% preferred. Large glossy leaves mean higher transpiration demand; humidifier or pebble tray keeps those pristine white veins looking crisp rather than edged in brown.
🌡️ Temperature — 65–85°F. Never below 60°F. Cold temps trigger dormancy fast—she goes from magnificent to missing with very little warning when temperatures drop.
🪴 Soil — Well-draining but moisture-retentive mix. Consistently moist without waterlogging; rich enough to support lush growth during the active season.
🌱 Fertilizer — Balanced liquid fertilizer every 2–4 weeks during active growth in spring and summer. Nothing once she starts going dormant in fall—let her rest without interruption.
⚠️ Toxicity — Toxic to pets and humans. Calcium oxalate crystals cause serious oral irritation and swelling if ingested; keep well away from children and animals.
🐣 Beginner Friendly? — Getting there. The dormancy cycle requires some understanding but the active growing season is genuinely rewarding—a great choice for intermediate growers ready for something architecturally extraordinary.

In cold weather, we strongly recommend adding a Heat Pack add-on for each shipment. Heat packs are priced separately and add additional weight to your box.
