Plant Description
Monstera deliciosa 'White Monster' is the plant that makes every other Monstera in the room feel underdressed—those iconic split and fenestrated leaves heavily sectored in pure white variegation create a contrast so bold and graphic it looks intentional in a way that nature technically isn't, each leaf a one-of-a-kind composition of deep green and luminous white that no two plants ever replicate. She's the most sought-after Monstera form for good reason—that white variegation is genetic, unpredictable, and absolutely non-negotiable about the care she requires to maintain it. Rare, stunning, and the kind of plant that defines a collection rather than joining one.
Care Card
🌿 Light — Bright indirect, consistently. White sectored leaves have dramatically reduced chlorophyll and need maximum available indirect light; low light causes the green sections to compensate by reverting and the white sections to suffer first and most visibly.
💧 Water — Top 1–2 inches dry between waterings, then water thoroughly and drain. White variegated tissue is significantly less forgiving of overwatering than standard Monstera—chunky well-draining mix is non-negotiable and root rot on a White Monster is a genuinely painful loss.
💨 Humidity — 60–75% preferred. Higher humidity supports larger leaf development and keeps white sections healthy; humidifier recommended. White tissue shows browning edges immediately and dramatically—don't let the air get dry.
🌡️ Temperature — 65–85°F. Never below 60°F. No cold drafts—white sections take cold damage faster than green tissue and on leaves this large and valuable the damage is immediately visible and deeply upsetting.
🪴 Soil — Chunky well-draining aroid mix. Large climbing plant with variegated tissue needs drainage, airflow, and a moss pole to reach its full spectacular potential.
🌱 Fertilizer — Half-strength balanced liquid every 2–3 weeks in spring and summer. Monthly in early fall. Nothing in winter; white variegated tissue is fertilizer-sensitive—consistent gentle feeding over aggressive doses every time.
⚠️ Toxicity — Toxic to pets and humans. Calcium oxalate crystals cause oral irritation and vomiting if ingested.
🐣 Beginner Friendly? — Absolutely not. This is a rare, high-value, high-maintenance plant for experienced collectors with the setup, the knowledge, and the emotional resilience to care for something this extraordinary.
HOW OUR SHIPPING WORKS
We ship all live plants with custom packing, insulation, and lots of cushioning so they arrive in the best condition possible. Shipping rates are based on the packed weight of your order (plants + soil + pot + box + insulation). This helps us cover the real cost of getting breakable, living things safely to you.
In cold weather, we strongly recommend adding a Heat Pack add-on for each shipment. Heat packs are priced separately and add additional weight to your box.
SHIPPING NOTE: Shipping includes wrapping and insulation. Heat packs are not included by default—please add a Heat Pack add-on to your cart for cold-weather shipping. Shipping Days are Monday–Wednesday to avoid weekend and holiday delays.
PLEASE NOTE: What you see is the vibe — not the exact plant. 🌿 Each plant has its own personality (some a little more dramatic than others). Leaf shape, size, and variegation will vary, but pot size is consistent.
