Peperomia caperata 'Quito' is the Radiator Plant that went deep green and fully textural and never once looked back—those deeply corrugated, heart-shaped leaves have a rich, almost forest-floor quality that makes the whole compact plant look like a tiny piece of a very well-designed ecosystem placed deliberately on your shelf. She's structured, tactile, and the kind of desk or windowsill plant that rewards the people who actually get close enough to appreciate what's happening on that ridged surface. Easy, dimensional, and quietly one of the most satisfying small plants in the hobby.
Care Card
🌿 Light — Bright indirect preferred. That rich corrugated texture displays best with good light; low light causes stretching and the dimensional ridged surface flattens toward something considerably less interesting.
💧 Water — Let the top inch dry between waterings, then water thoroughly at the base. Never on the leaves—water pools in those corrugated ridges and invites fungal issues. Semi-succulent stems store moisture; overwatering is the primary mistake.
💨 Humidity — Average to moderate, 40–60%. Comfortable in typical home humidity without supplemental assistance—genuinely low-demand at this level of textural interest.
🌡️ Temperature — 65–80°F. Never below 55°F. Stable warmth keeps those corrugated leaves pushing consistently; cold drafts cause leaf drop that feels disproportionate on something this compact.
🌱 Fertilizer — Quarter to half-strength balanced liquid every 4–6 weeks in spring and summer. Light feeder; consistent gentle feeding supports the slow deliberate growth that keeps Quito compact and richly textured.
⚠️ Toxicity — Non-toxic to cats, dogs, and humans. Pet-safe and guilt-free—place her anywhere.
🐣 Beginner Friendly? — Yes. Compact, forgiving, low-humidity, and delivers serious tactile and visual texture in a small footprint—the Quito is the Peperomia for beginners who want something richly dimensional without any care complexity.

PLEASE NOTE: What you see is the vibe — not the exact plant. 🌿 Each plant has its own personality (some a little more dramatic than others). Leaf shape, size, and variegation will vary, but pot size is consistent.
