Philodendron 'Hope' is the easy-going, large-format Philodendron that makes a room look like someone who knows what they're doing lives there—those broad, deeply lobed, glossy green leaves spread outward in a full, lush rosette that delivers genuine tropical presence without requiring a climbing support, a humidifier setup, or anything more than basic attentive care. She's the self-heading Philodendron for people who want the bold tropical statement without the collector plant drama, growing steadily and confidently into a specimen that anchors a corner the way only a plant with serious leaf presence can. Big, lush, and entirely unbothered by the expectations.
Care Card
🌿 Light — Bright indirect preferred; tolerates medium indirect light without complaint. Those bold lobed leaves stay most defined and glossy with good indirect light; low light causes petioles to stretch and the lobed definition softens on new growth.
💧 Water — Let the top 1–2 inches dry between waterings, then water thoroughly and drain. Standard Philodendron drought tolerance applies; well-draining mix keeps roots healthy and those lush lobed leaves pushing on a reliable schedule.
💨 Humidity — 50–70% preferred. More tolerant of average humidity than most tropical statement plants; a humidifier or pebble tray supports the best leaf size but typical home conditions are genuinely manageable.
🌡️ Temperature — 65–85°F. Never below 55°F. Stable warmth keeps those lobed leaves unfurling consistently; cold drafts cause leaf damage that interrupts the lush tropical effect.
🌱 Fertilizer — Half-strength balanced liquid every 2–3 weeks in spring and summer. Monthly in early fall. Nothing in winter; consistent feeding supports the steady growth and large leaf size that makes the Hope so useful and so impressive.
⚠️ Toxicity — Toxic to pets and humans. Calcium oxalate crystals cause oral irritation and vomiting if ingested.
🐣 Beginner Friendly? — Getting there. More forgiving than most large tropical plants at this visual level—a great choice for intermediate growers ready for something genuinely lush and architecturally impressive without the collector plant demands.
HOW OUR SHIPPING WORKS
For more details, please see our Shipping Policy to support your plants for a healthy journey in all seasons.
PLEASE NOTE: What you see is the vibe — not the exact plant. 🌿 Each plant has its own personality (some a little more dramatic than others). Leaf shape, size, and variegation will vary, but pot size is consistent.
