Plant Description
Philodendron 'Moonlight' is the self-heading Philodendron that brings its own light source—those broad, glossy leaves emerge in vivid chartreuse to lime-yellow before maturing toward deeper green, the whole compact clumping plant glowing with a warm luminosity that makes a shelf look like it has better lighting than it actually does. She builds into a full, lush specimen without needing a climbing support, pushing those bright new leaves with reliable regularity that makes new leaf day a genuinely cheerful occasion. Bright, compact, and entirely self-sufficient about being the most luminous thing in the room.
Care Card
🌿 Light — Bright indirect preferred. That vivid chartreuse coloring stays most saturated and luminous with good light; low light causes new leaves to emerge paler and the whole glowing effect dims toward something considerably more ordinary.
💧 Water — Let the top 1–2 inches dry between waterings, then water thoroughly and drain. Standard Philodendron drought tolerance applies; well-draining aroid mix keeps roots healthy and that luminous coloring at its most vivid.
💨 Humidity — 50–70% preferred. More tolerant of average humidity than collector aroids; a humidifier supports the best new leaf color and keeps mature leaves looking rich and glossy.
🌡️ Temperature — 65–85°F. Never below 60°F. Stable warmth keeps those bright new leaves unfurling consistently; cold drafts reduce the vivid color intensity that makes the Moonlight worth having.
🌱 Fertilizer — Half-strength balanced liquid every 2–3 weeks in spring and summer. Monthly in early fall. Nothing in winter; consistent feeding supports the new leaf production and luminous color expression that is the whole point.
⚠️ Toxicity — Toxic to pets and humans. Calcium oxalate crystals cause oral irritation and vomiting if ingested.
🐣 Beginner Friendly? — Getting there. Standard Philodendron care with a dramatically more colorful and luminous payoff—a great choice for intermediate growers ready for something bright, compact, and genuinely cheerful to own.
HOW OUR SHIPPING WORKS
We ship all live plants with custom packing, insulation, and lots of cushioning so they arrive in the best condition possible. Shipping rates are based on the packed weight of your order (plants + soil + pot + box + insulation). This helps us cover the real cost of getting breakable, living things safely to you.
In cold weather, we strongly recommend adding a Heat Pack add-on for each shipment. Heat packs are priced separately and add additional weight to your box.
SHIPPING NOTE: Shipping includes wrapping and insulation. Heat packs are not included by default—please add a Heat Pack add-on to your cart for cold-weather shipping. Shipping Days are Monday–Wednesday to avoid weekend and holiday delays.
PLEASE NOTE: What you see is the vibe — not the exact plant. 🌿 Each plant has its own personality (some a little more dramatic than others). Leaf shape, size, and variegation will vary, but pot size is consistent.
