Plant Description
Philodendron 'Pink Princess' is the plant that broke the internet and has never once apologized for it—those dark, glossy, deeply green to near-black leaves splashed with bold, irregular pink variegation create a contrast so striking and so unexpected that it stopped being a novelty years ago and became a genuine collector's staple that the market never stopped wanting. She climbs with elegant purpose, each new leaf a different pink-to-green composition than the last, and the variegation is genetic and stable in a way that makes her reliable as well as extraordinary. The Pink Princess earned her title and she wears it without effort.
Care Card
🌿 Light — Bright indirect, consistently. Pink variegation has reduced chlorophyll and needs good light to stay vivid and bold; low light causes the pink to fade toward pale cream and the dramatic dark-to-pink contrast that defines her slowly diminishes.
💧 Water — Let the top inch dry between waterings, then water thoroughly and drain. Well-draining aroid mix essential—pink variegated tissue is less forgiving of soggy roots than standard Philodendrons; root rot here is avoidable and expensive.
💨 Humidity — 60–75% preferred. Humidifier recommended; dry air causes browning that shows immediately against those pale pink sections and undermines the whole striking contrast.
🌡️ Temperature — 65–85°F. Never below 62°F. Stable warmth keeps those pink variegated leaves unfurling consistently; cold drafts damage pale pink sections faster than green tissue.
🌱 Fertilizer — Quarter to half-strength balanced liquid every 2–3 weeks in spring and summer. Monthly in early fall. Nothing in winter; pink variegated tissue burns more easily than green—gentle and consistent is the only approach.
⚠️ Toxicity — Toxic to pets and humans. Calcium oxalate crystals cause oral irritation and vomiting if ingested.
🐣 Beginner Friendly? — No. Collector pricing, pink variegated tissue, and precise care requirements make this one for experienced growers who are ready to give the Pink Princess exactly what she deserves.
HOW OUR SHIPPING WORKS
We ship all live plants with custom packing, insulation, and lots of cushioning so they arrive in the best condition possible. Shipping rates are based on the packed weight of your order (plants + soil + pot + box + insulation). This helps us cover the real cost of getting breakable, living things safely to you.
In cold weather, we strongly recommend adding a Heat Pack add-on for each shipment. Heat packs are priced separately and add additional weight to your box.
SHIPPING NOTE: Shipping includes wrapping and insulation. Heat packs are not included by default—please add a Heat Pack add-on to your cart for cold-weather shipping. Shipping Days are Monday–Wednesday to avoid weekend and holiday delays.
PLEASE NOTE: What you see is the vibe — not the exact plant. 🌿 Each plant has its own personality (some a little more dramatic than others). Leaf shape, size, and variegation will vary, but pot size is consistent.
