🌿 Light — Bright indirect preferred. That vivid red new growth develops its most saturated color with good light; low light causes new leaves to emerge duller and the dramatic red-to-green color cycle loses the intensity that makes it worth having.
💧 Water — Let the top 1–2 inches dry between waterings, then water thoroughly and drain. Standard Philodendron drought tolerance applies; well-draining aroid mix keeps roots healthy and those warm-toned leaves cycling through their full color range on schedule.
💨 Humidity — 50–70% preferred. More tolerant of average humidity than collector aroids; a humidifier supports the best new leaf color and keeps mature leaves looking rich and glossy.
🌡️ Temperature — 65–85°F. Never below 60°F. Stable warmth keeps those red new leaves unfurling consistently; cold drafts reduce the color intensity that makes the Red Moon worth watching.
🌱 Fertilizer — Half-strength balanced liquid every 2–3 weeks in spring and summer. Monthly in early fall. Nothing in winter; consistent feeding supports the new leaf production and red color expression that is the whole point.
⚠️ Toxicity — Toxic to pets and humans. Calcium oxalate crystals cause oral irritation and vomiting if ingested.
