Get the watering right and she's remarkable; get it wrong and she's a cautionary tale, which is the most succulent thing about her.
Care Card
🌿 Light — Full sun to bright indirect; at least 4–6 hours of direct sun preferred. Those perfectly round pearls stay plump and tightly spaced with strong light; low light causes the pearls to elongate toward the light source and the whole jewelry-piece effect becomes considerably less precious.
💧 Water — Let the soil dry out completely between waterings, then water thoroughly and drain. Those pearl-shaped leaves store moisture efficiently; overwatering causes the pearls to burst and rot with a speed and finality that is both alarming and irreversible—when in doubt, wait another week.
💨 Humidity — Low. Prefers dry conditions; typical home humidity or drier is ideal. No misting, no humidifier, no pebble tray—she is a South African succulent and she has strong feelings about excess moisture in any form.
🌡️ Temperature — 60–80°F. Keep above 40°F; more cold-tolerant than many succulents but prefers consistent warmth. Bring indoors before hard frost and keep away from cold drafts that cause pearl shriveling.
🪴 Soil — Fast-draining cactus or succulent mix with added perlite. Drainage above everything else; the pearl form is extraordinary until root rot ends the whole trailing display without warning.
🌱 Fertilizer — Diluted succulent fertilizer once in spring and once in summer. Minimal feeding; she grows deliberately and the pearl form stays most perfect with restrained nutrition rather than enthusiastic feeding.
⚠️ Toxicity — Toxic to cats, dogs, and humans. Causes vomiting, drooling, and lethargy if ingested; keep well away from pets who investigate trailing plants with their mouths—those pearls are tempting and dangerous.
🐣 Beginner Friendly? — Not quite. The "completely dry before watering" rule is non-negotiable and the consequences of overwatering are immediate and dramatic—but sun, drainage, and drought tolerance make the actual care simple once you commit to the discipline.

In cold weather, we strongly recommend adding a Heat Pack add-on for each shipment. Heat packs are priced separately and add additional weight to your box.
